What We Do
At SOLA Lions Club, we volunteer year-round to support Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) competitions, sports training, and athlete-centered events. We believe in the power of inclusion and friendship—and we put that belief into action by showing up, cheering loud, and lending a hand at local and regional events where children and adults with intellectual disabilities come to shine.
Our club members work together to:
Volunteer at multiple Special Olympics events each year
Enjoy social gatherings and club meetings
Raise critical funds to underwrite uniforms, equipment, celebrations, and more
Expand our reach by helping other communities start their own Champions Lions Clubs
We don’t just serve—we connect, celebrate, and grow. Volunteering with us is more than just giving your time—it’s gaining purpose, new friendships, leadership skills, and the joy of helping others succeed. Whether you're looking to join as a member, lend a hand at one of our events, or start a Champions Lions Club in your community, we’ll help you take that first step.
🌟 Join the revolution of inclusion.
When you sign up to volunteer with SOLA Lions Club, you’re helping ensure athletes with intellectual disabilities have the chance to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and build lifelong friendships.

The SOLA Lions Club supports Special Olympics athletes for who they are: CHAMPIONS. They are champions for stepping out on the track, field, pool, or court and competing, for putting smiles on others' faces, changing attitudes and teaching sensitivity, and for building a more accepting world for everyone.
“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
— Pledge of the Special Olympic Athletes
