Become a Champion for Inclusion

Join the movement to create more inclusive communities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across Southern California.

Whether you're ready to start your own Champions Lions Club, volunteer at local events, or simply want to learn more — you're in the right place.

What Is a Champions Lions Club?

A Champions Lions Club is a community-based Lions Club formed by individuals who are passionate about inclusion, service, and leadership. These clubs focus especially on supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by partnering with organizations like Special Olympics Southern California and serving local communities in creative and compassionate ways.

🦁 Powered by Lions Clubs International — the world’s largest service organization
🤝 Focused on Special Olympics athletes, inclusive recreation, and year-round support
📍 Formed in neighborhoods, schools, faith communities, and workplaces across SoCal

Champions Clubs are rooted in the Lions motto: “We Serve” — but with a focus on inclusion and unity through sports, events, and family engagement.

Why It Matters

There are over 650,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern California — but fewer than 40,000 currently access inclusive programs like Special Olympics.

SOLA Lions is working to close that gap — one athlete, one volunteer, one club at a time.
